BACKLINKS
A backlink audit tool that ends in a disavow file
Badgerfly's Backlink Audit is a backlink audit tool for agencies and SEO teams. It scores every link pointing at a site for risk from 0 to 100 and lets you decide link by link: keep, monitor or disavow. From those decisions it builds the disavow file in Google's format.

What a backlink audit answers
The question behind it is short: are any of these links hurting the site? The module gives a clear answer for each link, and the file to act on it. It does not decide for you. A high score is a reason to look, and the decision stays with the person who knows the site.
A risk score and a blocklist check for every link
Each link gets a toxicity score from 0 to 100. Higher means more likely to harm rankings. Links at or above the toxicity threshold are flagged, and you set the threshold: lower catches more links, with more false alarms; higher flags fewer.
The top of the result sums up the profile: active links, referring domains, how many are toxic, the average risk score, and new and lost links. Links sit in risk bands (good, medium and toxic) that work as filters, so a toxic backlink checker and a full link review are the same screen.
Separately from the score, each linking domain is checked against public malware and phishing blocklists. A link from a domain on one of those lists is a different kind of problem from a weak link, and it is reported as one.
You decide, link by link
Every link starts as not reviewed. For each one you choose:
| Decision | What it means |
|---|---|
| Keep | The link is fine. |
| Monitor | Not bad enough to disavow; worth another look later. |
| Disavow | You want Google to ignore it. It goes in the disavow file. |
Sort by risk score, confidence, first seen or domain. Search by a domain, a URL or the anchor text. Tick every link on a page to decide in bulk, so a run of links from one bad domain takes one action instead of one per link.
The disavow file, built for you
When the review is done, the module writes the disavow file in Google's format from the links you marked to disavow. You upload it to Google yourself. Nothing is sent to Google on your behalf, and links you kept or put on monitor stay out of the file.
Audit a prospect's links
A Backlink Audit can run as a standalone run on any site, without adding it to your project list. Check a prospect's link profile before the sales call, or a site you are weighing up as a link partner. Results open on the module's own page and are kept, grouped by site.

After the audit
A backlink audit is a snapshot. To keep watching:
Links export to CSV.
- Backlink Monitor compares each check with the one before to find new and lost links, and verifies the links you paid for.
- Backlink Gap and Link Prospector find the sites worth asking for a link next.
- Reports has a rankings and backlinks template for the monthly report.
What it costs
Each audit uses tokens, while changing decisions, building the disavow file and reopening a finished audit cost nothing. How tokens work
Questions
What is a backlink audit?
A review of every link pointing at a site to find the ones that may harm its rankings, followed by a decision on each.
What is a toxic backlink?
A link that is more likely to harm rankings than help them. The audit gives every link a toxicity score from 0 to 100 and flags the ones at or above the threshold you set.
What is a disavow file?
A text file in Google's format listing the links you want Google to ignore. It is built from your decisions, and you upload it to Google yourself.
Can I audit a site I do not manage?
Yes, as a standalone run. The crawler, BadgerflyBot, identifies itself and obeys robots.txt.
