SITE AUDIT

An SEO audit tool that puts fixes in order

Badgerfly's Site Audit is a technical SEO audit of a site, page by page. It scores site health and AI search health from 0 to 100 and sorts every issue by how many health points its fix recovers. The top line of every result names the three fixes worth the most.

Site Audit overview: site health 97, AI search health 99, crawled pages and the top issues by points lost

What an audit checks

BadgerflyBot, Badgerfly's crawler, starts from the homepage and the sitemaps, obeys robots.txt and reads up to the page limit you set. For every page it records the status, depth, incoming internal links, word count, response time and the issues found. It groups those issues by topic, such as robots.txt and crawlability, HTTPS, Core Web Vitals and site performance, internal linking, and markup.

A sample of pages is also loaded in a real browser, so the Rendering tab can show what only appears after scripts run. Content that needs JavaScript to appear may be missed by search engines and by AI assistants that read plain HTML.

Fix first, not a wall of warnings

Most audit tools hand you every warning they found. Site Audit puts a cost on each one: the health points the site loses because of it. Sort by Fix first and the list runs from the problem that costs the most to the one that costs the least, with the affected pages beside each issue.

  • Errors hurt rankings or stop pages from being read.
  • Warnings are worth fixing.
  • Notices are improvements.

Site health is weighted by each issue's severity (an error counts more than a warning, a warning more than a notice) and by how many pages it affects, so a warning on many pages costs only a few points.

AI search health

Alongside site health, every audit scores how well the site is built for AI assistants and answer engines: whether the pages can be read without running scripts, whether the markup is clean, and which AI crawlers robots.txt lets in. It is the same score as site health, worked out over the AI search checks only. The By topic tab lists each AI crawler the site allows or blocks, so a site that is quietly invisible to AI search is caught in the same audit as a broken link.

Core Web Vitals, from field and lab data

The audit reports Core Web Vitals for a sample of pages. Field data is real visitor measurements over 28 days and can be missing for low-traffic pages; lab data is a simulated measurement that is always available. Both are labelled, so you know which one you are looking at.

Schedules, history and PDFs

Run an audit once or put the project on a schedule. Each audit is kept, so you can see whether site health went up or down since the last one. Audits export to PDF, and in the beta the PDF carries your own branding with no watermark, ready to hand to the business you are working for. The health scores and the fix-first list can also go into a report, as in this page from the sample report.

Audit a prospect without making a project

Standalone Runs check any site or business without adding it to your project list: a Site Audit, Backlink Audit or Citation Audit on a prospect before the sales call, a competitor, or a one-off look. Results open on the module's own page and are kept, grouped by site.

What it costs

An audit is charged only for the pages it actually read, and reopening a finished audit is free. How tokens work

A crawler that behaves

BadgerflyBot identifies itself in its user agent, follows robots.txt (including a BadgerflyBot group), honours a crawl delay, makes at most five requests at a time to one host, and backs off when a server asks it to. Site owners can read exactly what it does on the BadgerflyBot page.

Questions

How many pages can one audit read?

You set the page limit for each audit: 200 by default, up to 5,000.

What is AI search health?

A 0 to 100 score for how well a site is built for AI assistants and answer engines: pages that can be read without scripts, clean markup, and which AI crawlers it allows.

Can I audit a site I do not own?

Yes, as a project or a standalone run. BadgerflyBot obeys the site's robots.txt.

Can I schedule audits?

Yes. A project can be audited on a schedule, and each audit is kept for comparison.
